When using ObjectPlanet's hosted service, everything runs on our infrastructure — there is nothing to install.

- Microsoft Windows or Linux
- Java 1.8 or newer
- A web server with a Servlet/JSP container conforming to the Servlet 2.3 specification or newer (e.g. Apache Tomcat)
- A database system. Opinio includes a built-in database suitable for evaluation — no configuration needed to test it. For production use, a more robust database is required. Supported databases: MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2
- A web browser
Hardware requirements
- 1 GB memory (2 GB or more recommended)
- 85 MB disk space for Opinio initially, growing as usage increases. Reports and uploaded files (images, stylesheets, templates) require additional space.
- 10 MB disk space or more for the database, varying by database system and growing with survey volume and response count.
- Additional hardware requirements depend on usage volume. High-volume surveys benefit from a faster processor and disk for improved scalability.
